I received no positive or negative comments about my article last month. Which makes me think that it probably resonated a little too true for most. I can say for certain that the people that I thought would benefit from it the most didn’t at all. Now, that’s because we all get to choose what we do or don’t do in life. Some of us choose to be better and others choose to stay the same. Now if you’re content or have accepted that you don’t want or need to change then you shouldn’t. Just please don’t make the rest of us miserable with your decision, thinking that you have to be this way.
We have a new software system in place that will allow for online bill pay. This effort has been ongoing for quite a while. I want to thank the entire office staff for their countless hours of work and dedication. The system will be going live as of June 1st, 2026, with online bill pay and over the coming months, additional features will become available.
A full page explaining the initial steps to follow if you’re interested in registering is directly after this article. The system is user friendly, and I think that the majority of you will enjoy being able to use it. The goal is to allow for online payments for your maintenance to begin with and then eventually for work orders and other items. Please be patient as with anything new, we will have some initial kinks that will need to be addressed.
We believe that we have thought of just about everything that we will encounter, but I assure you a few fell through the cracks. This is something that many of you wanted and therefore we are doing it as this is your community. Just as with the roads project and new entrance at Daryl Drive we had some initial issues, but they were addressed in a timely matter and now all of you enjoy the benefits of those projects.
The payments are hosted through a third party as all online payment systems for this type of software are, therefore, there is a nominal processing fee. The fee for each payment with an E-check is $2.49 “two dollars and forty-nine cents” per payment. You can pay more than one month at a time, and the fee remains the same. So, if you pay for three months of maintenance at a time, the fee is still $2.49 “two dollars and forty-nine cents” For those of you wanting to get the points on a credit card, you can. The charge for making payments with a credit card is 3.25% of the total payment.
All systems have a charge for this feature and although banks do offer online payments at no charge, these banks do not have an internal software system that will allow us to apply them to your individual accounts. Without being able to have an internal system for us to monitor, there is no way for the system to work from an operational standpoint. Each of you who register will have your own resident portal which will have all of your information listed. This will include your account balances, payments, and any late fees. Eventually additional features will become available on your portal as well.
The best news for those of you who are happy with the current system: you can continue to do things the same way you always have. When we put work orders online, we continued to accept paper work orders and still do to this day. For those who physically bring in a check or have it mailed, that is something that you can still do. If you have your check sent through your bank, you can continue to do that as well. Nobody is being pressured into changing anything at all, but for those who want the option, you now have it.
The internal accounting and residential database have been in need of being updated/replaced for some time. Knowing that there was a desire for online payments, we made sure that the option was available in the systems that we looked into. Regardless if anyone elects to do online payments or not, we still had to update our system. We are hoping that you will, as many hours went into that feature specifically as that is what many of you asked for.
I thank all of you in advance for your patience and cooperation as we move forward. I know how easy it is to attack progress and things that we don’t like. What I would ask of all of you is to be informed before you attack. We made a very specific and conscientious effort to think of everyone with this system.
Change is inevitable, how we choose to react to it is entirely up to us.
June brings us the following holidays and days of significance: Flag Day, Juneteenth, First Day of Summer, and Father’s Day.

We will never be happy if we always look at the world from only our point of view. I try very hard to see where other people come from and how they got to that place. I have come to the realization that it’s just much easier to think that everyone is out to get you. Rather than to see things from the lens of someone else. I do find it ironic that those who think that everyone is out to get them are the people that spend their lives going after people.
